Craig Williams. Hello, hello, hello, and welcome to The Homeowner Show. We would like to welcome you to our special annual Christmas edition of The Homeowner Show. Uh, this, this episode's all about Jesus.
That's it, man.
We're here to tell the Christmas story.
Yeah.
And you may, uh, well, you, you and I are both Christ followers, and so we want to take the time every year to remember what the season's all about.
That's right. Look, we're, we're believers. in Jesus and all that he's come to do and to redeem us from. And, uh, so we're excited, uh, to just kind of tell the story of his birth today.
Yep. So we're going to start in, uh, in Luke 1. In the 6th month of Elizabeth's pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a village in Galilee, to a virgin named Mary. She was engaged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of King David. Gabriel appeared to her and said, greetings, favored woman, the Lord is with you. Confused and disturbed, Mary tried to think what the angel could mean. Don't be afraid, Mary, the angel told her, for you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be very great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord
God will give him the throne of his ancestor David, And he will reign over Israel forever. His kingdom will never end. Mary asked the angel, "But how can this happen? I am a virgin." The angel replied, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby will be born. The baby, the baby to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God. What's more, your relative Elizabeth." has become pregnant in her old age. People used to say she was barren, but she has conceived a son and is now in her 6th month. For the word of God will never fail. Mary
responded, I am the Lord's servant. May everything you have said about me come true. And then the angel left her.
Now in those days, a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that a census be taken of all the inhabited earth. This was the first census taken while Quirinius was the governor of Syria. And everyone was on his way to register for the census, each to his own city. Joseph also went up from Galilee, from the city of Nazareth, to Judea, to the city of David, which is called Bethlehem, because he was of the house and family of David, in order to register along with Mary, who was engaged to him and was with child. While they were there, the days were completed for her to give birth. And she gave birth to her firstborn Son, and she wrapped Him in cloths and laid Him in a manger, because
there was no room for them in the inn. In the same region there were some shepherds staying out in the fields and keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord suddenly appeared before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terribly frightened. But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy, for which you will be you will be for all people. For today, in the city of David, there has been a Savior born, who is Christ Jesus the Lord. This will be a sign for you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger, and suddenly."
Appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom he is pleased. When the angels had gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds began saying to one another, Let us go straight to Bethlehem and then see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us. So they came in a hurry and found their way to Mary and Joseph, And as the baby lay in the manger, when they had seen this, they made known the statement which had been told to them about this child. And all who had heard it wondered at the things that were told to them by the shepherds.
But Mary treasured all these things, pondering them in her heart. The shepherds went back, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, just as had been told them. And when 8 days had passed before his circumcision, his name was then called Jesus, the name given by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.
Hope all of you are blessed by hearing that story again this year. Hope everybody has a Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas.
