A water heater is the appliance nobody thinks about until the morning the water is cold, and then a several thousand dollar decision gets made in an afternoon. Almost every plumber the show has had in the room has an opinion about it.

Common questions
How long does a water heater last?
Long enough that age alone is not a diagnosis. Paul the Plumber's complaint on both of his episodes is that units six or seven years old get replaced instead of repaired because the swap is the easier sale, and his advice is to find out what is actually wrong before accepting a replacement quote.
Is a tankless water heater worth it?
The show keeps coming back to it and the answer keeps depending on the house.
